A place to explore digital art

In 2004 a friend gave me a gift of a six-week course learning Photoshop on the Internet.

The course was run by LVS Online and Janee Aronoff was our qualified Adobe instructor.  LVS  offers a large number of digital art and web software courses at a very reasonable price. They are suitable for beginners through to advanced and their instructors are based all over the States.

Since then I have taken further courses  looking at turning photographs into art, restoring and repairing photos and photorealistic painting. These are now run by Janee from her own site at www.myjanee.com.  There are also free tutorials on this site.

Learn about Corel Painter and ArtRage through the LVS site.  These two programmes mimic real painting media more closely than Photoshop.  They also require the use of a piece of hardware called a tablet with accompanying stylus to achieve artistic effects although I managed with a mouse to start with.  I currently use a Wacom Intuos 3 A5 pen tablet. These are widely available from different sources.
